As graduation quickly approaches and the class of 2026 prepares to move on to greater things and new adventures, it’s the perfect time to shine a light the students who have shaped Lakeview High School. This Senior Spotlight will future Lillie Haines, her years at Lakeview have consisted of great academic and athletic success.
Haines has a lot of memories from her years as a player on the schools tennis team but she excitedly explained that: “My favorite memory would be tennis when we went to the Girard match this year, when we won and then the whole team got to jump into the community pool afterwards in our uniforms.”
She strives for success, her role models showed her how to have proper dedication and be able to have a good work ethic. They’ve offered help and guidance over the years, providing her with the tools for success. She explained, “My superheros would be my older brothers and sister, Sarah, Zach, and Austin because they were always there to help out when I needed it and inspired me to keep working hard.” And, “Mrs. Schlatt, because she was always there to help with assignments.”
Haines is surrounded by an amazing group of friends who’ve been by her side for everything. When asked about Haines, Senior Lauren Brown said: “Lillie is such an adventurous person. She is the kind of person who will go on a midnight adventure even if she is already in bed!”
Senior Nathan Thomas, another important person in Haines’ life was also asked about her, he said: “Lillie is a very kind and smart person with an admirable passion for the things that she cares about and values. Whatever steps Lillie takes past graduation, I have no doubt she will excel and live a life worth remembering!”
Haines has learned so much during her years at Lakeview, and not just math or history. She has learned some important life skills that will follow her out of high school. “I have learned to not be as stressed about certain things like bad grades and stuff like that and to know to just learn from my mistakes and it is not the end of the world.”
Haines has also had a lot of fun memories through out her four years spent at Lakeview High School. She spent time with friends, played sports, and went to school dances. She explained, “My favorite in class memory would be playing roblox Identity Theft with Lauren and Reese in government junior year.” and “Senior year homecoming was my favorite because I had a great time with my friends and boyfriend.”
She is looking forward to what the rest of senior year will bring her. Whether it is prom, the senior trip, or even the end of year parade, Haines is excited for all of it. She can’t wait to make memories with her friends, celebrating a job well done. She’s taking in every moment before graduation, while also looking forward to finishing the year strong. Haines talked about what she’s most excited for, she exclaimed that: “I am excited for the senior field trip and prom because I love field trips and prom was fun last year.”
Looking towards the future, Haines had to really think about what she wanted to do after high school. After thinking about it she said, “I plan on going to college at Kent State or University of Cincinnati and pursuing a job or career where I work in environmental conservation” As she prepares for graduation, she leaves behind a great legacy of hard work and positivity.
