The Lakeview Bulldogs Baseball team is gearing up for their upcoming season, dedicating hours to continuously condition and strengthen themselves to help them perform their best. Not only are they preparing for their local games, but also the Bulldogs are looking forward to their trip to Greenville, North Carolina where they will perform, strengthen their teamwork, and overall grow as young athletes.
For this trip to happen, the team has organized fundraisers to help gain community support. These efforts given by others will not only help cover travel costs but also allows them to experience competition and enjoy team bonding on and off the field. for this trip to not only allow them to compete but also get to have bonding experiences with each other. Coach Cameron Carson and the Lakeview Bulldogs are excited to build on from their trip last year to Myrtle Beach, setting higher expectations for their upcoming trip and season.
Coach Cameron Carson goes into detail about the trip and expands on some experiences they are looking forward to, “We are excited for our spring trip to Greenville, North Carolina where we will play in the Pitt County Classic. This trip will be offering us some new experiences that we didn’t get on our previous trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. For one we will all be staying in the same AirBnb which will allow us to spend more time together as a team and become a more tight knit group. We will also get to go to an Eastern Carolina Baseball Game where we will get to see all their facilities and watch a competitive Division One matchup. Lastly, we will benefit from seeing high level competition to help us come back and compete for a NE8 Conference and District Championship.”
Coach Carson’s perspective on the value behind this trip emphasizes how it can help their teams performance and overall bonding. By taking on challenging teams and spending quality time with each other will help the Bulldogs build a strong connection and come back stronger for their Conference game and District Championship.
Senior baseball player Isaiah Lantz expands on the baseball trip that was taken last year and some expectations for this coming baseball trip, “Our last trip to Myrtle beach was extremely fun. We not only got better at baseball, but we were able to build friendships and team bonding that will last forever. This years trip I’m looking forward to more of that but also competing at a higher level. Last years trip we struggled to win games but for this years trip I’m hoping for more W’s in the win column.”
Lantz’s excitement for this trip reflects the teams drive to grow from their trip last year, turning their focus on stronger teamwork and more success on the field.
Junior baseball player Eli Gough also goes into detail on the experience of the baseball trip last season and what he expects out of this upcoming season, “Our last trip, I feel, gave us some lifelong memories and experiences that not many kids get to have in their high school careers. What I’m looking to get out of this year’s trip, that we didn’t get from the last one, is winning games and truly competing. I feel that on our last trip, we didn’t compete the way we wanted to, so this off season has been all about going down there and making a statement about who we are this year.”
Gough’s perspective captures the team’s upcoming purpose for their season, as the Bulldogs are striving to turn last year’s experience into motivation to improve themselves and grow as athletes.
The Bulldogs have standards high for their trip to Greenville and their overall upcoming season. The concept of new experiences, determination, and team bonding helps make this season one to remember. As Coach Carson and the Bulldogs team continues to train for their season, the community is looking forward to cheer on the team every step of the way.
