Graduation is soon approaching here in a few months, and we are going to recognize a Lakeview High School senior, Haiden Shardy. Shardy has attended Lakeview all his life and is proud to be where he is and leading his school in his last final months. Shardy is very excited t0 move on after high school and find his next chapter in life but sad to see all the memories and relationships slowly fade.
As a person who loves to work and get a little sense of what working life is like. He brings energy and pride in every type or work he does. Shardy’s next chapter in life is going to be in excavation.
Shardy states, “After High school I attend on going straight into the work force to do excavation. I want to pursue this career because this is something I want to do and is where the money is at!”
In the classroom Shardy liked to have fun while also getting his work done. During all of his years of high school one teacher stood out to Shardy, and that was Lakeview science teacher Maureen Bucko. Shardy claims, “Bucko was my favorite high school teacher because she helped me the last two years on tests and projects in her class and always made sure I understood what was going on in her class.”
Shardy not only excelled in the class but he also made many memories: “Mrs. Bucko’s class was the best because I knew I got to see some of my best friends and we would always get a laugh during that class.”
On the field Shardy was a leader for his football team. This is Shardy’s fourth year of playing football for Lakeview and has enjoyed every minute of it. Shardy not only played in high school he has played the sport through out all of his life and is an expert in the game. Even though his season came to a quick end this year he enjoys watching and staying in touch with the game through watching NFL and CFB. Shardy’s position on the field was center, although he wasn’t the quarterback, he was still the leader of the offensive line. On defense Shardy played defensive tackle and was a force t0 be reckoned with.
Reflecting back on his time as a Bulldog football player Shardy emphasizes, “It was a fun sport I liked it cause you go out there with your team and fight together and win and it’s like the whole team is a family.”
One of Shardy’s closest friends and fellow teammate, Preston Littleton, reflects on memories they have had together. Littleton explains, “My favorite memory I had with Haiden is when me and him both crashed our crazy cart and razor scooter into each other and both did flips that hurt us really badly!”
Shardy has also made many memories with another one of his closest friends Freddie Combs. Combs states, “One of my favorite memories I have had with Haiden is when we were fishing at a pond in Vienna. We got dropped off by our parents at this pond we have not been to in a while. When we were done fishing, there was no one who could come and pick me up and him up so we started walking all the way back to his shop in Vienna. We walked four miles all the way back in 90-degree weather.”
Even though Shardy has made many memories in the time he has been at Lakeview High School, he is most sad to see them go. His favorite part about high school was making new memories,s whether it is at school or outside of school, riding dirt bikes and hanging out with friends. He is going to miss not seeing his friends as much and maybe growing away from some relationships. But to Shardy, these memories and relationships are never going to part from him, and he will remember all the times he has had during his time at Lakeview High School.
We wish you the best of luck, Shardy. We can’t wait to see what you do in your next chapters of life.
