With the end of the school year soon approaching, we are going to take a look at a Senior who not only enjoys sports but also spending time with friends in class. Preston Littleton, a 2026 Senior is looking forward to graduating and getting the honor to walk down the stage and receive his high school diploma.
Littleton has enjoyed his time here at Lakeview whether that’s in class having conversations with his friends or being out on the football field. He played on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball as a receiver and corner. He has also played basketball his entire life which he played at the shooting guard position.
As Littleton approaches the end of his Senior year he reflects on past memories and how fast time has gone since the beginning of his journey at Lakeview Elementary school. Littleton has built many friendships over the years and has created strong bonds with several teachers. Littleton emphasizes one of his teachers that was an adult role model for him by stating, “Mr. Shanower his my super hero because he always pushed me to do better and he taught me what hard work truly meant”. Being able to create a strong bond with your teachers is very important for enhancing your academic performance, more enjoyment in the classroom, and a mentor who is their for support.
On both the field and the court Littleton was a leader who believed in hard work and dedication. He has played both of these sports throughout his entire time at Lakeview from kindergarten to senior year. Littleton grew throughout these sports which allowed him to learn discipline and taught him how to balance both school work and other parts of life. He also created strong friendships through wins, losses, long practices, etc.
Reflecting on both football and basketball memories Littleton emphasizes, “My favorite sport was football because it allowed me to spend time with my friends and I always enjoyed playing on Friday nights.”
One of Littletons closest friends, senior Aidan Barnot, reflects on their friendship and the many great memories that they have shared over the years, emphasizing “Preston has always been a close friend of mine and my best memory with him would be laughing in class together.”
Littleton has also made a very close friendship with senior Matthew Leonard, a fellow teammate and classmate. Leonard emphasizes his best memories with Littleton by stating, “Preston and I have always had a close friendship since the beginning of our time at Lakeview and my best memory with him would be playing out on the football field together.”
Reflecting on a legendary school event that Littleton is most excited for, he emphasizes, “The Senior trip will be very thrilling for me because it finally marks the end of my senior year.”
After high school Littleton plans on attending Kent State and receiving his bachelor’s degree so that he can then pursue a job title in law enforcement as a police officer. He then hopes to become a police chief later in his life. We wish you the best of luck Preston and we know you will do great things outside of Lakeview!
