As the end of the 2025-2026 school year is coming to a close, many seniors deserve to be recognized for much more than just their title. It’s time to recognize this weeks Senior spotlight, Lauren Brown! Senior Lauren Brown has accomplished so much throughout her academics and the surrounding community, especially in her youth group.
As the year is coming to a close, Brown speaks on what she is excited about for her senior year. Many seniors can agree that the prom is one of the highlight moments of the whole year and works as a big close to the end of the school year. Brown talks about how thrilling and exciting this is for her and many other seniors, “I was most excited to go to senior prom. It will be thrilling because I get to hang out with my friends and get dressed up.”
Speaking of highlights of senior year, Brown has also had creative accomplishments. Earlier on in the year, many students and art teacher, Jeff Piper, worked on an elaborate artwork piece in the teacher’s lounge. Brown talks about how this was a fun thing to do for the school and teachers, with her friend, senior Lillie Haines. Brown reflects on this creative experience, “Painting the Bulldog in the teacher lounge with Lillie.”
Brown had many inspirations throughout her life, most notably, her youth pastor and leaders. She goes on to talk about how they helped her so much with making decisions for her future. Brown has relied on her faith in God and the people in her church community to become what she is today. Brown speaks good things about her pastor and youth leaders, “My youth pastor and leaders. They’ve put time and effort into helping me figure out my future and giving me opportunities to branch out.”
Brown and her friends frequently went to youth group and made many memories there. Youth group was a big thing for Brown and she choose to surround herself with others that also could agree. She states that one of her favorite out of school activities was just,“Going to youth group with my friends.”
As we’re coming to a close on the 2025-2026 school year, Brown talks about what she will miss the most, her friends. Going from seeing your friends everyday to not seeing them as often is a hard switch for some people. It especially hard when there is a whole future at the palm of your hands and most of the seniors going to college which calls for a lot of focus on school and not having as much time to see friends or family. Brown values her friendships a lot and this will be out of sorts for her and many others, she is going to miss, “Seeing my friends who I’ve grown up with everyday.”
For what she is doing after school, Brown is planning to go to college for early children education and to make more friends.
Congrats to Lauren Brown, the future looks so bright!
