As graduation approaches and the class of 2026 begins to look ahead, it’s time to remember the students who shaped Lakeview High School through their dedication, creativity, and leadership. Among them is Camryn Ross, a lifelong Bulldog whose passion for art, community, and growth has colored the halls of Lakeview with creativity and purpose. Over the past four years, Ross has not only contributed to the spirit of the school but also helped define what it means to turn talent into purpose.
Ross has spent her last four years excelling in numerous clubs such as the President of Assemble For Change, Junior and Senior Executive Committee, SMASH, National Honor Society, and Senior Beta Club.
Recapping her senior year spent at Lakeview, Ross reflects on what she has gained from her experience: “I had gained my confidence at LHS. My senior year has shown me I am able to take the hard classes and achieve the awards I didn’t ever think I could which has given me a lot of confidence.”
Throughout Ross’ time at Lakeview High School, she has been awarded several astonishing awards towards art. One of her greatest accomplishments was being awarded an American Vision Nominee for her piece of art called “Blooming Battlefield.”
Ross shares, “My favorite art memory was the amount of awards I won for my pieces and how many ceremonies this allowed me to attend.”
While art has been a defining part of her high school experience, some of Ross’ favorite memories come from simple moments spent with friends in the classroom: “My favorite in class memory was nearly any moment in communications class. Every moment was so much fun and everyone was laughing at the ridiculous speeches we all tried to give.”
In addition to her artistic and academic commitments, Ross has proven herself to be a well-rounded student by participating in Lakeview athletics and music programs. She was a member of the track and field team during her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. She also contributed her musical talents to both the concert and marching bands during her freshman year. Whether performing in the band, competing in athletics, or showcasing her artwork, Ross approached every opportunity with passion and pride.
Outside of school, Ross recalls another favorite memory: “An outside of school memory was being able to be a senior rep for a photography company with my friends, Melena and Giana. We had a lot of fun dressing up for different photoshoots and being the face of a company.”
Before leaving Lakeview, Ross has one piece of advice for the incoming freshmen who will soon walk the same halls as she did: “I would let them know to take grades seriously and to make sure you choose a path that best suits you. Don’t worry about ruining your GPA for the unnecessarily hard classes, you will take what you need when you’re ready.”
With graduation right around the corner, Ross looks forward to the future with excitement and determination. After graduation, she plans to attend Youngstown State University in the fall to pursue a career in astronomy. She is already off to a great start with being nominated for The National Society of Collegiate Scholars through YSU.
As the end of senior year draws near, Ross looks back on her time at Lakeview with pride, carrying lasting memories and accomplishments that showcase her dedication and creativity: “I am going to miss Lakeview as a whole because it was a place where I was able to find myself and grow into someone who is ready to start a new, mature chapter of my life.”
Ross has had an unforgettable high school journey, leaving her creative spark in both the art room and the classroom. Lakeview wishes her all the best as she takes on new adventures at Youngstown State University!
