Over the past four years, senior Landon Baker has left an unforgettable mark on Lakeview High School—whether excelling in the classroom, performing proudly with the marching band, or immersing himself in a variety of extracurricular activities. As graduation approaches, Baker reflects on his experiences as a proud Bulldog and looks forward to the next chapter of his journey.
Academically, Baker has built a strong and consistent record of achievement. He has earned multiple honors, including a regular place on the honor roll, several academic letters, and acceptance into the College Credit Plus (CCP) program. His talent and work ethic also earned him a spot in the prestigious Lakeview Symphonic Band, where he has flourished as a musician.
On top of Baker’s busy year, he has been a part of the marching band all four years of high school. He’s spent countless hours rehearsing, performing, and forming friendships that will last well beyond graduation.
Reflecting on these special memories, Baker shares his favorite memory from his time spent in the marching band: “My favorite memory throughout my four years of marching band was stopping and looking around the room as a senior to see people growing, talking, and living their best lives.”
Not only did Baker’s extracurricular activities involve being part of the marching band, it also reached far beyond the band room. Over the years, he has pursued a wide range of interests that highlight his creativity, determination, and school spirit. He’s been an active participant in tennis, jazz band, the Lakeview Drama Department, and community theatre, each offering opportunities to develop new skills and build lasting connections. Whether performing on stage, competing on the court, or collaborating with classmates, Baker has always brought enthusiasm, focus, and heart to everything he does.
When asked what he’ll miss most about Lakeview after graduation, Baker doesn’t hesitate, “This is such an easy question because I am going to miss every single staff member at Lakeview so much. They not only have provided me with the help that I’ve needed, but they’ve given me people who I can talk to every day about absolutely anything.”
Like many graduating seniors, Baker has learned valuable lessons through experience—some that only time and reflection can bring.
Looking back on his earlier years, he shares a piece of advice for future students: “I wish I would have known the power of worrying about myself more than caring about the world around me. As a young man, I had thought about high school drama so much that it had completely consumed my life. This would have been incredibly important to know as a freshman because it would have allowed me to grow more freely and become the man I have always wanted to be.”
Now, as a proud member of the Class of 2026, Baker is ready to take the next step in his journey. This fall, he will attend the University of Mount Union, where he plans to study biology with the goal of becoming a physician assistant. His path forward reflects both his intellectual curiosity and his compassion for helping others.
When looking forward to Baker’s future, he explains what he is most excited about, “I am most excited about graduation. However, not because I am excited to leave everybody behind and be done with high school. The reason why I am so excited to graduate is because I am completely ecstatic to see what awaits me on my journey through life.”
Throughout his time at Lakeview High School, Baker has exemplified what it means to be a Bulldog—hardworking, creative, and kind hearted. His leadership, integrity, and enthusiasm have left an impression that will long outlast his time here. As he closes this chapter and takes on new challenges, one thing is certain: Landon Baker will carry the spirit of Lakeview with him wherever he goes, proving that once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.
