With the 2026 school year coming to a close, we would like to recognize the seniors at Lakeview High School who have worked tirelessly to reach this milestone. Today, we celebrate Claire Remmick, whose dedication and growth has left a lasting impact on the Lakeview school community.
Throughout high school, Remmick pushed herself both academically and athletically, constantly striving to improve and take on new challenges. She is currently in the National Honor Society, Band, Cross Country, and Track – continuing to work hard for her achievements everyday. Reflecting on her pathway, she shares, “A super power that Lakeview has taught me is work ethic. Managing difficult courses, sports, social life, and a job has taught me the importance of time management and balance.” With skills like this, she will certainly make it far.
Her involvement in Cross country and Track became one of the most meaningful parts of her time at Lakeview. One moment stands out above the rest: “My favorite memory was winning the NE8 district meet. After training and running extremely high mileage all winter and summer my work was recognized and gave me a major sense of accomplishment.”
Beyond competition, some of her favorite memories were made outside of school. She fondly recalls, “My favorite out of school memory was going on a road trip to Queka Lake in New York with my friend, Rory, over summer break. We spent a week staying in a cabin right on the water and had an amazing time swimming, hiking, trying cafes, and exploring the town.”
Remmick credits much of her growth to the mentors who have supported her along the way. She appreciates all they have done for her, “Many Lakeview staff members have been crucial to my high school experience. Mr. Sensabaugh and Coach Nalbach have both played key roles by helping me find things outside of academics that I am passionate about. Not only believing in us students, but also dedicating their time to help us expand and build our skills.” Mentorship from the both of them has helped her not only grow as a student, but also as a person. They were able to influence her with skills and traits that will stick with her for the rest of time, and continue to benefit her in everyday life.
Looking back on her school career, Remmick does have advice for her younger self – some that the underclassman could most likely use as well. She reminisces, “If I could go back to the beginning of high school I would have started Cross Country and Track earlier. I wish I would have said yes to trying new activities in my earlier years of high school rather than gathering the courage my Junior year to try the activities that I have become so passionate about.”
As graduation approaches, Remmick knows what she will miss most once Lakeview is nothing but history. Similarly to other students she expresses: “I am going to miss the lifelong friends that I have made at Lakeview. I have made my best friend at Lakeview and I will miss the countless memories that we have made, as we split into different chapters of our life.”
Although saying goodbye is bittersweet, she has no choice but to move on, and is eager for what lies ahead. Remmick reveals: “I am excited to start this new adventure in life. I plan on attending college at Bowling Green State University to major in Communication Sciences and Disorders.”
We wish her the very best in this next chapter. Lakeview will certainly miss her, but her future is bright. Good Luck Remmick!
