The end of senior year is approaching quick for the seniors and at the end of the year we always love to feature the seniors in the top dog articles. Bulldog Bulletin is featuring Brandon Toot as a Top Dog. Toot has many Lakeview achievements including a four year academic letter winner, Toot is a four year letter winner in soccer and baseball he also started playing basketball this year and will be a letterman in basketball as well.
Toot has a total of 50 career goals for the soccer team he has been starting since his freshman year. Toot is one of few players to reach scoring 50 goals in his high school career here at Lakeview.
Toot also holds the record for most steals in one game for basketball with 9 steals. Toot has done a lot for the athletic program here at Lakeview and has helped the soccer team baseball team and basketball team to many crucial wins. Toot is a one time district champion his freshman year he started second base for the baseball team and they went on to win the district championship against Garfield which they won with a blowout 11-4.
Toot has succeeded heavily in his athletic career but he is also a standout student within the classroom he has been guided by the positivity from all of his teachers but one teacher really stood out to him.
Toot says, “My favorite teacher is Mr. Carson. I’ve had him for 2 years as a teacher and 4 years as a coach. He has been with me since I started high school to the end and he is someone that’s very easy to talk to and would help me if I needed anything.”
Lakeview Social Studies teacher Cameron Carson taught Toot respect and helped him strive athletically and academically. Carson made Toot a better person from inside and outside the classroom.
Toot has played a lot of sports over the years and he has many memories from these sports he is going to share 2 of his favorite sports memories with us.
Toot proclaims, “My favorite two sports memories are winning districts my freshman year in baseball and my last soccer game ever. Winning districts for baseball because it was my first year of high school baseball our team felt unstoppable and it was great vibes. My last soccer game was so special because in the last 15 minutes we knew it was all over so me and my boys were just having fun one last time together.”
Sports have taught Toot many lessons over the years now and has made him the man that he is today moving forward it wasn’t all about the sports for Toot but the lessons he learned.
Toot being a 3.5 GPA student and a 4 year academic letterman he has big plans for the future and will succeed in doing so.
Toot says, “What’s next for me is going off to college and striving for success in all aspects of life.”
Toot plans on attending college so he can succeed at the next level and succeed in life. Toot has always been a good student in the classroom and will continue this through his college career.
Toot has many friends that he has met over the span of his life that are still here to this day and has made so many memories with. Two of Toot’s friends, seniors Nathan Paolucci and Evan Hawn were asked to say a few words about him.
Nathan quotes, “Toot has always been a good friend of mine he is always fun to hangout with and he is very chill. Its always fun getting to play sports with him on and off the field.”
Evan says, “Heck of an athlete and an even better person. Toot can also bench 225 for reps.”
The quotes received from Nathan and Evan show that Toot is a great person to be around and a great athlete here at Lakeview and he is appreciated by many people.
Lakeview High School appreciates all that Toot has done for the athletics and academics here. Toot has always been a good friend to everyone and has never let any coach or teacher down with the performance he put up that day or night. Whatever comes next for Toot in his life will be done with passion and he will succeed outside of Lakeview.
