As the school year is approaching an end, it is only right to look back on seniors who will soon be graduating in the next couple of months. This individual who the bulldog bulletin will be featuring is Senior Aidan Barnot. He is a senior who has done noticeable things and will be recognized.
To start Barnot has been at Lakeview since Kindergarten and has grown up through Lakeview. In High school he joined the soccer team. In his 4 years, he is a 3 year letter winner in soccer. In Barnot’s senior year he played as a center back and scored 8 goals while 7 of them scored with his head. This same year he also achieved 2nd team all district and 2nd team all conference. These awards are very respectable achievements.
When asked what his favorite soccer moment was, Barnot stated, “My favorite soccer moment is the game winning goal against the Badger. This moment was sentimental because we were losing all game and we came back, kept battling and pulled through in the end. It was a great team win.”
One of Barnot’s teammates, Junior Ethan Phelps, says, “Barnot has been a great role model for me since I stepped onto the soccer field my freshman year. He’s a guy who gives the team energy and has always been a fun one to be around. One of my favorite memories of him was when we did the milk mile challenge. Barnot made the experience hilarious.”
In addition to Barnot’s sports career he has also helped the baseball and basketball teams by doing YSN. This is a huge help for Lakeview sports fans that want to watch games online at home.
In Barnot’s 4 years at Lakeview High there have been a lot of people who have impacted him along the way. Not just in the classroom but also outside of the classroom.
In response to his favorite teacher, Barnot explains, “One teacher who I always liked has been. Mr. Carson because I’ve had him for 2 years in psychology and government. He is cool and fun to talk to in class and outside of it. He is also the baseball coach and I’m a big baseball fan.”
Lakeview Social Studies teacher Camerson Carson taught Barnot how to be an active student, ask questions and showed him how to work hard in the classroom. Barnot will take these lessons with him further in life.
When questioned what he will miss the most about Lakeview, Barnot noted, “I will honestly miss everything, my friends, coaches and teachers. Especially my most memorable moment when I was in wellness class junior year. In this class we would be playing different sports everyday and just having a good time with no worries in the world.”
Barnot’s classmate Senior Evan Hawn shares, “I first met Barnot in Kindergarten and he’s a great friend who has a great personality and cracks jokes. I grew up playing soccer with him and his dad has taught me a lot. The best part about this guy though is he’s got loyalty.”
Furthermore, he is going to continue school off to college at Kent Trumbull to get into business. Although he will miss Lakeview, this new chapter in his life will be promising for Barnot. He is proud of the many accomplishments he has worked very hard for. On the whole, he can take the memories, experiences and lessons he was taught throughout his high school years and take it on with him to push through whatever challenges are thrown at him in life.
We hope you succeed in your next chapter and wish you the best of luck.
