Senior year is rapidly coming to an end, with the year coming to an end we love honoring our outstanding students by claiming them as top dog! One student that has set an amazing example and done an outstanding job here at Lakeview High School is Nora Lewis!
Lewis has spent her last 7 years attending Lakeview and has loved every minute of it. Nora has participated in soccer, track and ski club throughout her years. Nora is a four year letter winner in soccer.
Nora took a lot of pride in her soccer career and truly cared about improving for herself and her team. She states, “Playing soccer for four years has really taught me so much, it taught me things I never thought it could such as strength, resilience and friendships. I’ve made some of my best friends playing soccer and so many unforgettable memories.”
One thing Nora will remember most about Lakeview is “The amazing friendships I have created and millions of memories I have also created with my best friends! One of my favorite memories definitely consisted of most Spanish classes. I had such a fun learning experience in the Spanish 1,2 and 3 classes I took all throughout high school.”
Lewis would like to recognize a teacher that has really made a positive impact on Lewis’s career was sophomore English teacher Jenna Hogue, Lewis states, “I would say that Mrs. Hogue is who influenced me the most because she made me realize which subject I am the strongest in and made me the confident student I am today.”
Lewis has made so many memories with her friends throughout her high school career. Hanging out with her friends is one of her favorite things to do. She has had some of the best times with her friends doing activities such as going to football and basketball games. She says how she will forever miss doing the themes and going to the football games.
Lewis also talks about the things she was most excited about in the beginning of the school year. She states “At the beginning of my final school year, I was most excited for homecoming and prom because it is the last high school dances I will ever have and it is a fun time to make memories with your friends.”
One thing Lewis is most excited for as we are closing off this school year is the senior trip. Her classmates voted and decided on Kennywood. Lewis states “I can’t wait to go on the senior trip, one of my favorite places to go is an amusement park. I can’t wait to go with all of my friends and ride all of the rides!”
Lewis also talks about the most difficult parts of her high school career. She states, “The most difficult part about senior year is thinking about how everyone will go to their own college and part ways because I won’t be able to see my friends every day like I do now at school.” Lewis expresses how deeply she is going to miss all of her friends.
Someone that inspired Lewis while getting through high school was her mom. She states “My mom is one of my biggest inspirations, she has taught me so much growing up and I really cherish and will never forget the advice and intelligence I have gained from her!”
High school goes by in the blink of an eye. Changing you in many ways which has allowed Lewis to not only grow as a student but as a person too. Some advice she would like to give to the younger class is, “Cherish every moment with everyone because before you know it you will be graduating and you won’t have that time and memories to make with one another.”
Lewis’s future is brighter than ever! She is going to thrive as a Flash! Lakeview wishes you the best of luck!
