Every super hero’s story begins with an awakening a moment when ordinary challenges reveal extraordinary strength. For Kylie Allen, that story has unfolded throughout her years at Lakeview High School, where she learned that her greatest power isn’t flying through the sky or reading minds, but something much more practical and hard won self-discipline. It’s a power that will carry her far beyond the classroom and into a future where her words might shape lives as an English teacher.
During her early days as a freshman superhero in training, Allen admits she had one key weakness procrastination. Assignments had a way of slipping past deadlines, and high school’s pace sometimes felt like a whirlwind. But as she grew and evolved, she found strength in structure, learning how to balance priorities and manage her time with focus and determination. “I’ve definitely learned how to be less of a procrastinator,” she says. It might sound simple, but for Kylie, overcoming that challenge transformed everything. It taught her how consistent effort leads to real accomplishment an insight that now guides her across every subject and pursuit.
At Lakeview, Allen discovered many mentors and allies along the way, each playing a role in shaping her heroic journey. The most important one is Carrie Schlatt, a teacher who turned English class into something far more meaningful. Kylie’s eyes light up when she talks about her: “She never fails to make me laugh, and her class is always the highlight of my day.”
That laughter, that comfort in being understood it’s what brings Lakeview’s classrooms to life. For Kylie, Schlatt embodies the ideal mentor patient, uplifting, and always ready to help when confusion strikes. It’s no surprise that Kylie’s dream career mirrors her teacher’s path. Her next adventure is continuing her education at Kent State University, starting at the Trumbull branch before moving to the main campus to earn her degree in English education. Teaching, after all, is just another way of passing on a superpower one that inspires others to think, imagine, and believe in themselves.
Beyond academics, Allen has found joy and connection through her friends, the sidekicks who’ve joined her every step of the way. Two of her closest companions, seniors Lillie Haines and Lauren Brown, stand as trusted allies in her story friends who bring fun, encouragement, and laughter to every school event. Whether in the classroom or outside of it, their friendship fuels her strength. And when asked what she’ll miss most about Lakeview, Allen doesn’t hesitate “I’ll definitely miss hanging out with my friends every day.” That sense of community the easy comfort of seeing familiar faces and sharing daily moments is something few heroes ever forget when they leave their hometown behind.
Outside of school, Kylie’s light shines just as brightly. Her favorite adventures happen in an unexpected setting her youth group. It’s where she feels most at home, surrounded by people who share faith, purpose, and joy. It’s also where meaningful bonds deepen and lessons about kindness and compassion take root. These experiences remind Allen that heroism isn’t only found in achievements or grades, but in how we care for and uplift others.
When reflecting on the most powerful influence in her life, Allen doesn’t look to comic book icons or fictional figures she looks homeward. Her biggest inspiration has always been her mom. “She has the best advice and helps with homework,” Allen explains. But her mother’s guidance extends far beyond academics. She’s been Kylie’s role model in every sense, teaching her how to stay patient, optimistic, and grounded. Through her mom’s example, Allen learned that true heroes lead with love.
Though this senior year marks the end of one saga, Allen looks forward to the next chapter with excitement. One highlight still on her horizon is the senior trip, a long-awaited adventure she’s been looking forward to since the beginning of the year. “Even though I don’t like rollercoasters,” she admits, “I’m excited to spend time with my friends and just have a good time there.” It’s classic Allen embracing the moment, finding joy even in discomfort, and reminding herself that life’s best memories come from connection and laughter, not from perfection or fearlessness.
That attitude captures the very essence of Allen’s story. Her superpower isn’t just time management it’s maturity, empathy, and perspective. She’s learned that being a hero isn’t about saving the world it’s about improving yourself, one challenge at a time. As she steps forward into her future at Kent State, she carries with her all the lessons Lakeview taught her: how to persevere when things get tough, how to celebrate friendship, and how to keep learning every day.
Allen’s journey proves that greatness often grows in quiet, everyday moments the late nights spent finishing assignments, the laughter shared in class, or the wisdom absorbed from a caring teacher or parent. Her cape might stay behind when she graduates, but her power will only keep growing. One day soon, she’ll stand at the front of her own classroom, inspiring the next generation of heroes not with superhuman feats, but with compassion, patience, and the kind of strength that comes from experience.
