Graduation is soon approaching and we want to take the time to recognize one of our seniors, Brandon Cash. Cash as been apart of Lakeview all of his life and is happy to be leading his school as the school year is winding down. Cash is going to be sad leaving his school behind but is also very excited for the next chapter of his life.
One thing Cash would do if he were to go back in time to the start of his high school career would be to change his mentality as a baseball player. Cash explains this thought with, “I would change the mentality I had going into my freshman season. I wasn’t as confident and thought I was going to be outshined as soon as I walked into practice.”
Throughout his time at Lakeview Cash has overcome this problem to be more confident in himself. He believes confidence is key to making your way through high school not just in school but also on the field. Cash believes baseball is one of the most mental draining games and it will tank your confidence as a player. But if you keep your confidence up you have a chance of being a great player.
During Cash’s time at Lakeview he was a part of the baseball team and ski club. Cash is a 3 year letter winner in baseball. He has made some of his most favorite memories being a part of the baseball team and ski club. He has had his most favorite high school memory while being a part of the baseball team. His favorite memory was winning the conference and winning a district championship. Cash loved being apart of this time as a player at Lakeview because it was one of the biggest moments for the Lakeview baseball team.
After his time at Lakeview Cash wants to follow a path of being an electrician or a real estate agent. Cash explains, “I’m a big family guy, I love being present for everything that goes on. My dream was to always be a lineman like my dad but experiencing how absent he’s been in my life has impacted that dream of mine which pushed me towards the interest in electrician work. It’ll also free up some time to pursue my alternate interest, real estate.”
Cash has also met many very close friends during his time as a Bulldog. One of Cash’s closet friends and fellow teammate, Hayden Newton, reflects on memories they have had together. Newton emphasizes, “My favorite memory I had with Cash was hanging out at his house with all of our friends swimming in the pool and getting Taco Bell at like 12 AM. He is a great friend of mine and I wish him the best of luck in the future.”
Cash has also made many memories with another one of his closet friends Tyler Simonyi. Simonyi describes “Cash and I have been friends since elementary school. We have had many journeys with him from going to Oregon to going to each others house. He’s not just my best friend because of the stuff we have done but the experiences we have been through together”
Even though Cash has made many memories in the time he has been at Lakeview High School, he is most sad to see them go. His favorite part about high school were making new memories, playing sports, and hanging out with friends. Cash might grow away from some relationship, but to Cash, these memories and relationships will never be forgotten in his mind. He will never forget the moments he has had at Lakeview High School.
We wish you the best of luck, Cash. We can’t wait to see what you do in your future.
